Collison Family of Norfolk
The Collison family have been domiciled in Norfolk since the age of the Danes and were Jarls (Danish Earls) in their own right. The name is mentioned in the “Hundred Rolls” of 1327. The visitations of Norfolk make mention of John Collison in 1444, as receiving seisin from Sir John Clifton in 1421. Members of the family owned land in the 1500’s in Honingtoft, Ashill, Newton and Kings Lynn.
